The Original Can of Beans (OCB) is Geocaching’s only remaining trade item from the Original Stash by Dave Ulmer (the hider of the first cache) back in May of 2000.
To celebrate the presence of this item at the GeoCoinFest 2017 in Belgium, Luc De Haes designed this geocoin in a LE Antique Copper version available to the first 300 attendees who successfully achieved the “4 challenges” game during the event.
The geocoin was so popular that the event committee decided to mint an additional:
- RE 100 OCB Geocoins edition in Antique Tin available on this webshop.
- An XLE 80 OCB Geocoins in Antique Silver distributed by 3 designer shops present at the event: Geocache Land, Tevjen’s Coin Design and JP’s Geodesigns. No further mints will be done. We want this edition to remain a “thank you” for these 3 sponsoring designer shops who gave lots of geocoins for our raffle for which we thank them again! However, they didn’t use the whole lot so we have a very limited number for sale on this shop.
- An extra limited number in Antique Copper only available to our event volunteers who were prohibited to participate in the challenge game during the event. The total now produced makes it a LE 380. No further mints will be done. We want to keep this a unique piece for the challenge players and our volunteers.
- An AE 20 OCB Geocoins in Antique bronze, not for sale at the time of production but also here a very limited number of these remained unallocated and are now for sale here.
